Futuristic Space Western in which the costumes are influenced by Wild West style: natural materials such as wool, cotton, and leather in drab earth tones. Some clothing also reflects an east, south, and southeast Asian and Indian fusion of color and beauty as well as influences from the American Civil War, late 19th century as well as the 1930s depression era. Eclectic combination of styles/influences could be an effective way to modernise the western theme.
'Desperado', 1995.
Based in Mexico, there is a distinct western influence in the dusty, natural scenery. However, the costumes are much simpler, with black and white being used in contrast for the main characters. The effect is strikingly glamorous - a different angle compared to other films.
'3:10 to Yuma', 2007
Sepia colour scheme link with the dusty, sandy landscapes, with leather coat and chaps being used as a signifier of the western theme.
